Sunday morning thoughts. I’ve been brainstorming things to create that are sentimental and will bring others joy. A good mug always brings people joy, am I right?! I’m EXTREMELY sentimental. I keep every card that’s given to me (well, most cards - only the cards that someone writes a message in). I still have the napkins that my mom wrote notes on and sent in my school lunches 30 years ago. I have the note my dad wrote giving me the ‘ok’ to get my belly button pierced when I turned 16 because my grades were good. These things still bring me joy! When my kids grow up they’ll have a bin full of cards & notes with messages written for them about how loved and special they are (I hope they appreciate this).
The last Christmas with my mom was 2018. That year, she wrapped these little notes in a box for my stocking (I clearly get my sentimental quality from her). I’ve since laminated them together and have them on display in my porch. I read them often because they are great reminders of how blessed I am. Her handwriting was something else. She was a lefty and I remember loving to just sit by her and watch her write. It’s so unique. I’m contemplating getting her handwriting as a tattoo at some point. Until then, this mug with her handwriting will have to do.
Cheers,
Mrs. Sentimental :)
